Food Mobile

What: A food shelf on wheels. Volunteers assist shoppers in choosing and bagging groceries.
When: 1st Thursday of every month from 2-4pm
Where: Mt Airy Highrise (Capitol Area: 200 Arch Street, St Paul 55130)

Loaves and Fishes

What: A free community meal. Volunteers help cook and serve dinner. No experience needed.
When: 2nd Wednesday of every month from 3-6pm
Where: St Matthew’s Catholic Church (West St Paul: 490 Hall Ave, St Paul, MN 55107)

Shobi’s Table

What: Shobi’s Table Pay-As-You-Can mobile cafe:
 
Shobi’s Table is a pay-as-you-can cafe housed in Christ on Capitol Hill’s commercial kitchen.  Our congregation partners with them to serve delicious, nutritious, from-scratch meals to folks in the Frogtown and Midway neighborhoods of St Paul.   To find out more about what Shobi’s Table does, how to volunteer and support this ministry – please visit shobistable.org/volunteer.

Regular Sunday Volunteer Opportunities

Communion Set Up and Clean Up: Set up the bread, wine, juice and dishes before service begins, and then wash the cups and put other supplies away after service.

Coffee Set Up and Clean Up: Brew pots of coffee, set out hot water and mugs, teas, creamers and sugar before service. Wash mugs (using 2-min cycle dishwasher) after service.

Sunday Treats for Coffee Hour: Bring treats (homemade, store-bought, sweet and/or savory) for the Coffee Hour, enough for about 60-75 people.

Greeters: Hand out bulletins and welcome folks into church.

Ushers: Assist with the offering baskets, guide people up for communion, be attentive to the needs of the people and help to respond when situations arise.

Sanctuary Tidying: Organize and replenish hymnals, pencils and pew papers.

Readers: Read one of the day’s Bible readings during service. This reading is read in three different languages (e.g. Tigrina, Khmer, English, Spanish), each read by fluent speakers.

Communion Servers: Assist with serving communion during the service.
