Music Ministry
Music is a way for people to participate in worship that brings meaningful purpose, whether participating as musicians, or as a congregation listening.
Celebration Choir
On this side of Covid, we gather together in an “all y’all” choir that sings occasionally to bring joyful music to worship. If you’d like to sing a solo, duet or with a small group, please contact Natalia Peterson, our director of music. This is a ministry that welcomes all backgrounds and musical abilities, singing music of multicultural backgrounds and genres.

Instrumental and Vocal Music
During the summer months and on many Sundays, Christ on Capitol Hill enjoys the ministry of music from soloists during Sunday worship. Many are either studying voice or an instrument; those who simply enjoy creating music on their own or with accompaniment are welcome!

Jazz Sundays, Guitar Ensemble
The Jazz Ensemble plays each month, typically on the 3rd Sunday (with some variation throughout the year). Are you a Jazz enthusiast? Nathan Hanson leads up this Ensemble that also features Josh Granowski and Davu Seru. The group welcomes guest players from time to time.
Do you play guitar? Consider joining the Guitar Ensemble who typically play on the 5th Sundays–about 4 times per year.
Bell Choir
Do you know how to play handbells or would you like to learn? We have a small, two octave handbell choir that learned to play together during the Covid season and occasionally plays. We’d love to know about your interest!

Cambodian Music School & Cambodian Choir
We were the home for many years for the Kingdom of the Lotus Cambodian Musical Ensemble. Participants learned to play traditional Cambodian instruments and performed at various events. Music in the Khmer language brought a richness of eastern musical culture to the community at Christ on Capitol Hill. This rich history still informs our worship as we sing the Cambodian Lord’s Prayer in many seasons of the church year.
