You may request an electronic copy to be sent to your email or stop by during office hours to pick up a printed copy.

Vacation Bible School, Summer 2022

Coming back to VBS/KICKS after two summers affected by COVID and a bit of uncertainty still in place, our planning team chose to do a shorter Vacation Bible School in the evening. “VBS on a Stick – The Great Community Get-together” was held August 3 – 5 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. The daily themes were:
“God’s Community Changes You” with the story of Zacchaeus
“God’s Community Cares for Each Other” with the story of the paralyzed man who’s friends bring him to Jesus for healing
“God’s Community Grows” with the parable of the mustard seed.

Each evening, dinner, which of course included several things on sticks, was served to children, volunteers, and their families. (We appreciated partnering with Shobi’s Table and the work of Taylor and Daniele preparing one of our meals.) Dinner was followed by songs, puppet show Bible stories, art, science, and outdoor games. Ten children participated with some parents joining in, too.

Thank you to the planning team: Intern Carrie Stiles, Laura Delventhal, Aaron Haddorf, and Anne Zielske. Thanks to these additional adults for lots of help: Jean Christoffel, Yippy Clem, Joy McElroy, Beth Rahberg, and Pastor Emily Rova-Hegener. Finally, we are especially grateful to these amazing young-adult/youth volunteers: Morgan Christianson, Jawaun Clark, Maretta Clem, Mason Joseph, Nate Rahberg, Christine Rivera and LeighAnna Zielske.
