Create Retreat: Sunday, August 7th, 11am-3pm
The Create Retreat will be a wonderful opportunity for congregational rejuvenation, community building, and creativity! COCH will be partnering with Mosaic on a Stick—a Black, Indigenous, and woman-owned business—to collaboratively create a beautiful “Tree of Life” inspired mosaic art piece for our Fellowship Hall. Following church on TODAY, the congregation is invited to gather for a meal, fellowship, and a devotion. Mosaic on a Stick lead artist Lori Greene will then lead adults and teens in creating a mosaic, working in small groups on pieces that will come together to create the larger design. Meanwhile children will dive into creative and visual arts with teaching artist Chris Zappa and teaching assistant.
Mosaic on a Stick’s Mission
Mosaic on a Stick is a Black, Indigenous, and woman-owned business, and we work to put accessibility to art and creative expression at the center of our values. Mosaic on a Stick is a community art space created to promote mosaic art by selling quality supplies, teaching mosaic classes, and creating public, private, and commercial commissions. We are a studio that strives to be socially responsible in our work, invested in the community, and passionate about mosaics and the people who create them.
