God at work: God Unites
Bodies matter. People’s physical presence, gathering together to struggle together is a unifying force. Instead of being a mess of rivaling tribes, under David, people came together. Was it because he was the strongest, biggest, bravest leader the world had ever seen? No, we’ve seen how God surprised everyone with this unlikely choice. Leaders are great when they seek God in all they do. Like Jesus’ disciples, we are asked to be vulnerable, to be dependent on the reception of others. The Spirit always operates in the “between”: between Jesus and us, between you and me, between us and those we meet.
