Easter Reopening Fund

Alleluia! Christ is risen!
Christ is risen indeed, Alleluia!

April 2021

Dear Friends in Christ,

We are so grateful for your giving in the first quarter of this year which has been strong and generous. We are thankful for God’s providing for you and through you, for the church throughout 2020, and now, in the first part of 2021, we are grateful for the ways you continue to sustain this shared ministry through very challenging times.

We are amazed and thankful for the ways that we have weathered over a year living through the COVID-19 global pandemic and, for the first time in our lives, have not been able to gather in person for worship. For those who have been able to stay connected through Zoom worship, tuning in to video worship, sharing mail and phone calls, we give thanks. For those who have felt isolated and separate during this time, we have missed you and we deeply look forward to being in your presence again.

Whether in person or distanced, we are still planning for God’s Holy Spirit to be present and active in and through this church, even if it is in new ways. Your giving is important and we are grateful for the offerings you are able to give.

In this Easter season, in addition to your faithful giving to the General fund (our bread & butter, our rice & chicken, our meat & potatoes), we are going to have a special opportunity to give toward “RE-OPENING” – these funds will pay for technology improvements that will make it possible for people to participate in worship remotely while some are able to return. Our goal is to raise $10,000 in the next six weeks. They will also support and augment what we offer for groups who use our building Monday-Friday, for example for advocacy gatherings.

As we move into summer, we will work to complete our giving to the Welcome Table Capital Campaign, to complete payments for the Abundance Kitchen, and make ourselves ready for the bigger plans for renewal of our building that will begin in 2022.

We are praying for your health and wellbeing in this season. We are praying for you as we grieve so many losses personally and together, as you walk and rest in God’s embrace, and as you serve however you are able right where you are.

With blessings, love, peace and gratitude,

Kevin Bullock, Chair of Stewardship Team,Vicar Anne Wickland and
Pastor Joy McDonald Coltvet
